Not all of the celebrities were lacing up skates for the Hockey Night in Hamilton fundraiser. One young rising star brought her vocal talents to the festivities.
The vibrant and outgoing 11-year old, Sienna Rose Kocsis has a loyal following with many Hamiltonian sports fans, as this talented young singer has dazzled the crowds at Hamilton Tiger Cats home games, the OHL Hamilton Bulldogs hockey games and the 2017 Vanier Cup.
There was plenty of star power on display at the Gateway Ice Centre in Stoney Creek, ON (Canada) charity game to benefit Food4Kids Hamilton. Meanwhile, Sienna’s rendition of the Canadian national anthem, left the fans cheering and the NHL players with a tough act to follow.
As finishing touches were being completed for the fundraiser, Sienna’s mother Carly and NHL player and organizer of the event, Zac Rinaldo, were able to finalize having the singing sensation as a part of the festivities.
Sienna has become a fixture at the Ticats games, as she is entering her second season as the football team’s official anthem singer. Before last season, Sienna competed against over 100 other contestants to land the job.
“It was exciting,” Sienna said. “I started off competing with just over 100 other contestants and I made it to the final ten. From there, I was chosen as the winner of the auditions.” To play this video, view this post from your live site.
During Sienna’s vocal lessons and on-going training, she likes to belt out songs from her favourite singers. “I really like to sing songs by both Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato, while I’m practicing” Sienna explained.
Sienna understands it takes many hours of hard work to get to the next level, but her goal is to become a successful pop singer.
